Institutions and Economic Growth: Evidence from Ecowas

چکیده
This study examines institutions and economic growth: evidence from ECOWAS for 2000-2018. We use eight alternative variables to evaluate gross domestic product, fixed capital formation, population growth, foreign direct investment, control of corruption, government effectiveness, political stability & absence violence/terrorism, rule law. Then, we adopted the combined OLS model, effects random difference-GMM, system-GMM model. The results show that different measures institutional indicators significantly impact growth ECOWAS. However, institution’s quality has nothing do with financial expected by In most cases, positively development ECOWAS, while stability, law, effectiveness harm Therefore, decision-makers competent authorities should reduce organization’s through appropriate strategies such as derivatives.
